1) What is different about women today versus 40 years ago?
Women are having children far later now then this did 40 years ago. 70% of women at 25 were married with children in 1960 in 2000 only 25% were. Women have decided to work more and longer instead of settling down to get married and raise children. More women are enrolling into schools of the highest mark in education unlike 40 years ago, when women took classes mainly on learning about how to maintain a functioning household.
2) What is the norm in terms of what women are doing and when they are marrying?
Today women who are married are still working and trying to manage the household, which might be why most tend to wait on having children, if they have any at all.
3) Do women work more or less than in the past etc?
Women work more today than in the past. They are competing for jobs that were originally thought of as only for men.
4) Next, please write about what you plan to do as you finish school and reach adulthood. Will you work and get your career started and then marry or the other way around?
My plan is to have my career but if marriage comes first, I won't be discouraged, I still plan on starting my career, I just might hold off on having children for a year or two. Let things settle in first and make sure I have a somewhat stable household. I just really hope that I have children before I'm at least 32-33.
And - just for fun: if you are female: describe which Sex and the City girl you most identify with and why. You can also note your favorite boyfriend/husband. If you are male which main boyfriends do you most identify with and why or which female character would you most like to date. Would you date marry any of them? Why or why not?
I think I would most relate to Carry, because I am very goal driven, but at the same time I would enjoy the lifestyle of being married and finally settling down. My friends and I when we watched the two movies would often say which one we would be since there was four of us too. And the immediately said Carry for me, between Carry and Charlette.
